(Sold) - 1965 Valiant V200 Convertible.
Restored by me in 2006 - 2007
Original California built, California owned most of it's life - black plate car.
I have the paperwork from original owner car was licensed in South Dakota for a few years after the original California owner moved there in 2000.
Car was originally white with a white top, had a gold cheapo paint job applied (I have receipt) during it's CA. life.
Engine professionally rebuilt at local shop, deep pan added to transmission, new High Performance Mopar parts rear springs and all front end parts replaced. New gas tank, tires have very little wear on them - always stored inside, driven less than 3,000 miles since restoration. Interior has new covers on seats made to original pieces, new door panels, new sun visors and dash pad re-covered.
This is what the car looked like when I bought it.
One of the first things I did was rebuild the rear brakes and install Mopar performance springs and new shocks.
Stripping all the factory undercoating off the front end and etching primer applied. The rear I left the factory undercoating on as this was not a professional restoration.
Installing the engine and transmission
Every piece of the front suspension was replaced along with all brake parts and four brand new drums.
Heater was completely rebuilt and all gaskets and foam replaced.
Here are the front fenders getting the inside painted first. Doors got the same treatment.
A dual master cylinder and all brake pipes were replaced.
Here is after the new carpet is installed.
Shot under hood, the radiator was completely rebuilt by a local shop. Alternator and starter were rebuilt an electronic ingition from Mopar Perf was also installed.
Now the photos taken today for you to see the finished and current car - these were taken July 29, 2013 in my driveway.
That cupholder - radio is removable - the original AM radio is in the dash but not connected - it would work if you wanted it to.
Spare is new and three extra rims (un-restored) are available along with some other extra parts I have collected.
The top is in very good condition - the rear window is not broken or yellow. The rear window does have some scratches but not deep. All rubber was replaced on top. Top is not power.
The sunvisors and door panels are from Legendary - the door panels are for a Signet as they do not make the for the V200.
There is some pitting on the chrome on the inside of the windshield.
The car does not have power anything except the automatic transmission.
It drives very nice but parking without power is not what I would call easy. I do have a pair of original steering wheels but they are made of some sort of carbon rubber that does not restore well. I also have a Fury wheel I tried but it was too big and I am also too big so it was hard for me to drive. I put the Grant wheel in as a concession. As I said before, there are a number of spare and extra parts I will include if the buyer wants them.
